SL Nobina Nordic countries Nobina is one of the leading public trans- portation operators in the Nordic countries. At such a large scale, the increased responsibility to lower the environmental impact comes not only from individual traffic contracts – but is also driven by a possibility to improve the environment on a much larger scale. Nobina’s strive to increase the ratio of vehicles running on renewable fuels has resulted in an order of 179 new Biodiesel/ HVO buses, 64 of which come from Scania. For the Nordic region as a whole, this means that 55% of the Nobina fleet is now running on renewable fuels, and for Sweden – where the largest part of the fleet operates – the number of fossil free buses reaches an impressive 75%. 10 A GREENER COMMUTE Skåne region, Sweden – Population 1.34 million Getting commuters to choose public transportation rather than their cars requires more than just environmental benefits. And with the contract also extending to include service and maintenance through regional Scania workshops, high reliability is naturally a part of the deal. 11
