1 Introduction Dear customer, Thank you for choosing an actuator system from LINAK ® . The LINAK systems consist of high-tech products based on many years of experience from development and manufactur- ing actuators, electric control boxes, control systems and chargers. This system consists of one LINAK actuator and a specially designed Water valve Control Unit (WCU) developed and produced by third party manufacturers. The function and operational reliability of the system have been thoroughly tried and tested. In addition, we are continuously improving our products and systems in order to accommodate customers’ requirements. This user manual describes how to install and maintain your actuator system for gates and valves. We are sure that your system will provide you with many years of problem-free operation. Before our products leave the factory, they are subject to 100% function and quality testing. In the unlikely event that you should experience any problems with your system, please contact: LINAK Danmark A/S on (+45) 86803611. LINAK provides a warranty for all of its products and systems. However, this warranty is subject to the condition that the product is used in accordance with the specifications, that maintenance is performed correctly and that any repairs are carried out at a workshop that is authorised to repair LINAK products. Any alterations to the installation and use of LINAK systems may affect their operability and durability. The products may not be opened by unauthorised persons. 3 Warranty The LINAK ® warranty covers manufacturing faults 18 months from the production date (bat- teries 12 months). For additional information about the warranty period, please contact LINAK Danmark A/S. The warranty is limited to the value of the LINAK product. The LINAK warranty is only valid if the actuator is unopened and has been used correctly. The WCU and Battery Backup may not be subject to rough handling as this will void the warranty. 4 Safety instructions Please read the following safety information carefully. It is important that anyone who is to connect, install or use the system has received the necessary information and has access to this user manual. The LINAK solution is used for push and pull meaning both for opening and closing a valve. 4.1 Before mounting and adjusting the actuator to the valve or before troubleshooting • Stop the actuator from running or run to open or closed valve position • Disconnect the power supply and remove the mains plug from the socket • Relieve the actuator of any load that can be released during the work 4.2 Before startup • Make sure that the system has been installed as described in this user manual • Make sure that the power supply voltage to the WCU is correct before connecting the system • System connection: The individual parts must be connected before the WCU is connected to the mains power 4.3 During operation • If the WCU emits unusual sounds or smells, disconnect the mains power and any Battery Backups • Make sure that the cables are intact • Disconnect the mains cable to any equipment before it is moved • The products are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. However, you should always check that the individual products have the appropriate IP protection class (see product label) The system supplier is responsible for both correct CE marking and installation on the plant. 4.4 Classification The equipment is not suitable for use in the immediate vicinity of a flammable, anaesthetic mixture involving air, oxygen or nitrous oxide (laughing gas). © 2022 LINAK ® A/S 5
