STEP 2 HOW TO SEW YOUR PROJECT MODEL A AND B Overlock/zigzag neckline and armscye 1. Overlock/zigzag neckline and armscye on front piece part 1 and back piece part 2. Note: The overlock/zigzag seam should be sewn along the outer raw edge of the seam allowance so that the thread ends are enclosed. A zigzag seam can be about 0.5 cm wide. Sew together the shoulder seams 2. Place front and back piece on top of each other and sew shoulder seam stitch line (1) with 1 cm seam allowance. Sew the side seam together with 1 cm seam allowance. Overlock/zigzag the edge and press the seam towards the back piece. Sew both right and left side seam. Finish neckline and armscye by folding edges towards the wrong side 4. Fold the neckline and armscye 0.7 cm towards the wrong side and press. Insert pins if necessary. Sew the folded edge in place with a top- stitch 0.5 cm from the folded edge. Remove the pins. Sew both right and left armscye. Note: To make the seam lie neatly on the finished dress, it is important that you do not stretch the fabric when sewing. Tip: Note: For a more professional look on the finished product, you can sew the folded edge with a twin needle. If you sew with a twin needle, sew from the right side. 9.
