Helicopter Transportati Suits and Lifejackets VIKING is the first to release a complete ETSO approved transportation suit and lifejacket system for pilots and crew - designed for operations to and from helidecks All passengers and crew travelling by helicopter in hostile sea areas as defined in JAR-OPS-3 must wear ETSO approved immersion suits and lifejackets. Following recent EASA (European Aviation Safety Authorities) approval, VIKING has become one of only a few suppliers in the world able to offer a fully ETSO approved system comprising a transportation suit and lifejacket. Passengers and crew travelling by helicopter to hostile areas must wear ETSO approved immersion suits and lifejackets. VIKING offers fully ETSO approved systems that are ready for use with a standard harness. ETSO immersion suits The new requirements for immersion suits focus on four primary safety features: n Reduce amount of trapped air when submerged for better freedom of movement during evacuation n Reduce amount of leakage for better protection against hypothermia n Improve thermal protection that corresponds to a Class B suit n Improve visibility for search and rescue operations ETSO lifejackets Lifejackets also include important safety improvements: n Equipped with a sprayhood which can be deployed within 20 seconds n Mouth freeboard at least 120 mm n Fitted with a flashing light at a rate of 50-70 flashes per minute for better visibility n Optional VIKING EBS, an emergency breathing system with a re-breather that supplies air for a minimum of 60 seconds
