Regarding substances on the REACH Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 Candidate List and the UK REACH Candidate List The EU regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (“ REACH ”) is the main EU law to ensure a high level of protection of human health and the environment against the risks that can be posed by chemical substances. Following the UK’s departure from the EU, an adapted version of REACH applies within Great Britain (which is generally referred to as “ UK REACH ”). Article 33(1) REACH requires that the supplier of an article communicates to the recipient of the article sufficient information available to the supplier on certain substances present in the article to allow safe use of the article. Article 33(1) REACH applies to substances in articles meeting all the following criteria: (i) the substance is identified as a Substance of Very High Concern (“ SVHC ”) according to Article 57 REACH, (ii) the substance is included in the Candidate List to REACH https://echa.europa.eu/candidate-list- table (UK: https://www.hse.gov.uk/reach/candidate-list.htm) and (iii) the substance is present in the article in a concentration above 0.1% weight by weight (w/w). This threshold applies to each article of a product that is made up of more than one article, which were joined or assembled together (complex products). This means that the concentration of SVHC is not calculated on the w/w of the whole (complex) product, it is calculated on the specific article. Our current knowledge regarding presence of SVHC included in the Candidate List to REACH in a concentration above 0.1% w/w in our articles is as follows. Lead (CAS no. 7439-92-1) Lead is commonly used in steel and brass to improve machinability, in general in accordance with applicable ISO-standards. The following categories of our tools contain small articles made of steel and/or brass and could therefore contain more than 0.1% w/w lead in that small article. • Coolant kits and accessories for coolant connections • Boring Bridges • Tools and adaptors with adjustable nozzles • Custom Tools with assembled RFID tags Relevant end products, including article numbers, that contain small articles made of steel and/or brass above 0,1%w/w lead are listed below. The list is regularly updated as relevant. For relevant safety information see https://www.secotools.com/safetyinfo. Under normal operating conditions, the use of articles containing such components does not require any special safety precautions beyond normal safety procedures such as gloves. Disposal of all waste products and containers shall be made in accordance with local, state/provincial, federal and national regulations. We are continuously evaluating the possibilities to replace articles containing lead in our products with lead-free articles. Such replacements are done after an overall assessment taking into account factors such as risks, characteristics, and technical performance.
