TIME TO CLEAR THE AIR Letting people travel more sustainably is not just about getting them on a bus. It’s about getting them on the right bus. Transports are a major source of both global fossil CO 2 emissions, and local emissions like NO x (nitrogen oxides) and PM (particulates). On the bright side, that means the transport sector can also be a major contributor towards reducing these emissions. For Scania, sustainability always goes hand in hand with profitability. Because emission reductions will come with the best possible total operating economy; lowering the fuel consumption with efficient driving, market-leading engine technology and by using one of the most cost efficient alternative fuels available. Looking at your transport needs from a wider perspective also means using cutting-edge connected services to improve in all areas possible. Connected buses are efficient buses. 2 THE JOURNEY IS THE GOAL We’re all on a journey towards lower . emissions and cleaner air – and every kilometre we drive on that journey will either contribute to those goals, or set us back. But that difference can be as simple as choosing renewable biofuels such as Biodiesel or HVO, instead of fossil diesel fuel. And it really is simple, because most Scania diesel engines can run on biodiesel without modification, and HVO with just a filter pack change. So even though running Scania engines on diesel already meets strict Euro 6 emissions standards, choosing biodiesel/HVO will also reduce NO x (nitrogen oxides) and PM (particulates) emissions even further – continuously moving us closer to our environmental goals. Biodiesel 83 % Up to 83% CO 2 reduction HVO 90 % Up to 90% CO 2 reduction 3
