LOW-EMISSION PASTA BARILLA, THE WORLD’S leading pasta manufacturer, will use 50 Scania R 410 liquefied gas trucks between its 650 delivery and distribution points throughout Italy. “The Barilla Group’s strategy is focused on reducing emissions, and this characterises all new logistics projects,” says Logistics Director Riccardo Stabellini, Group Supply Chain. The trucks will be operated by Sicily-based Nicolosi Trasporti. DOOSAN EXTENDS SCANIA DEAL SCANIA HAS SIGNED a new deal to continue providing engines to South Korean construction equipment manufacturer Doosan Infracore. Scania engines are used throughout Doosan’s machinery portfolio, in wheel loaders, excavators, articulated dumper trucks and more. “We at Scania welcome and are proud of Doosan’s continued confidence in our engines,” says Joel Granath, Senior Vice President, Scania Engines. BUSES TO ABIDJAN SCANIA HAS SIGNED an agreement with Côte d’Ivoire’s Ministry of Transport and SOTRA, the Abidjan Transport Company, to deliver 450 buses. The agreement is part of a wider public transport improvement project for Abidjan, which also includes upgrading bus depots, vocational training for drivers and service technicians, and a feasibility study into producing biofuels from local agricultural waste.
