In the Emergency Room we have applied a cast to your broken arm. The cast must be removed � by your general practitioner in about . weeks � in the Day Surgery Center B120 � the plan for further treatment: . About the cast Please note that • the cast must not pinch or squeeze your skin • the cast must not get wet • you must elevate your hand and arm above heart hight to avoid swelling and plain • keep your fingers busy - remember to do exercises • avoid scratching with sharp objects under the cast Symptoms You must contact your general practitioner or the Day Surgery Center if you experience • back colouring of the skin on the fingers or fingertips • prickling or sleeping sensation in the fingers • decreased or changed sensation in the fingers • sense of coldness in the hand or fingers • lots of pain under the cast Whether you contact the Orthopeadic Amb. A510 or the general practitioner depends on where your cast is removed. Outside opening hours you must contact the Emergency Room. Pain medication If needed you can use pain-relieving medication such as Paracetamol. If this is not suffient, you can supplement with Ibumetin.
