To Whom it May Concern We hereby certify that according to Danish legislation the Marine Engineer’s Examination (Maskinmestereksamen) is a recognised educational programme in Denmark. We also certify that a certificate as Mask inmester issued between 1989 and 2006 entitles to the same opportunities as the Bachelor in Technology Management and Marine Engineering, which is referenced to level 6 in the European Qualifications Framework. This applies for certicates issued by all existing state recognised education institutions and for certificates issued by the now closed maritime education institutions: Odense Maskinmesterskole Aalborg Maskinmesterskole Esbjerg Maskinmesterskole/Maritimt Uddannelsescenter Vest Qualifications achieved from Danish maritime education institutions between 1989 and 2006 were achieved before the concept of professional bachelor programmes was introduced in Danish maritime education and training. The Danish education for marine engineers in 1989-2006 was conducted according to the Ministerial Order 599 of 7 October 1988. At that time, neither ECTS nor the concept of professional bachelor were used in Danish maritime education and training. The Marine engineer education had a duration of three years (which is comparable to 180 ECTS) of theoretical subjects (approx. 3600 lessons).
