EDUCATION AND TRAINING Use your right to education and training - it provides greater job security and the opportunity for higher pay. Companies are stronger with well-trained employees - and so are you when you enrol in further education and training. Education programme of choice You are entitled to two weeks off per year for self-selected education with full pay. If the education is to be financed by the competence fund, the seniority requirement is nine months if the education is only relevant to the company which the employee works for. If the education is relevant for employment in areas covered by the collective agreement, the seniority requirement is six months. You can use your chosen programme in a number of different ways: / You can save up time off for an educational or training course of your choice for up to three years, totalling six weeks in the third year. / You can use this freedom of choice to select basic as well as advanced level and general as well as professional education or training. / You can agree with your employer to save up to 12 weeks of self-selected education so that you can take an education or training course over three years with full pay. / The money from the competence fund can be used to subsidise course fees, course materials, transport costs and to cover lost earnings (100%). / If you are a trainee/intern, you can also pursue educational programmes using the money from the competence fund. However, the programme must take place in your free time. As an intern/trainee, you must have been employed for six months before you are entitled to self- selected education or training. Industry or company-relevant further and higher education and training In addition to self-selected education or training, you are entitled to one week of unpaid time off for education or training after six months of employment. After one year of employment, the company pays your salary, course fees and transport, and you are entitled to appropriate time off to attend the courses. Training and advice in connection with termination of employment If you are dismissed and the termination is due to the company's circumstances, after six months of employment you are entitled to an extra week of self-selected education or training financed by the skills fund. If you have not used the two weeks of self-selected education or training you have saved up in the same year, you are entitled to a total of three weeks of self-selected education or training. If you have an additional two weeks saved up from previous years, you can also use them to make a total of five weeks. You may also be able to extend the number of weeks of self-selected education or training to up to seven weeks in total if you agree on this with your employer. 10

When the termination is due to the company's circumstances, you can also get up to two hours of paid time off to seek advice and guidance from your trade union and unemployment insurance fund. Education and training representative If the company and union representative agree, there can be appointed a common education and training representative at the company who can assist employees with education and training based on the provisions of the collective agreement and be part of creating an overview of where in the company trainees can be taught. The education and training representative is entitled to 1 day of training to manage this role. TRADE UNION REPRESENTATIVES If you have at least five unionised employees at your workplace, you can elect a union representative. A union representative means influence for all members. The union representative is the voice of the colleagues and can, for example, in dialogue with management make local agreements that adapt the collective agreement to your company. The union representative receives training in negotiation and leadership, among other things, which benefits all colleagues in the workplace. The union representative also receives remuneration for his/her work. The union representative will have better opportunities to generate good results at local salary negotiations with this collective agreement. Among other things, the union representative can request to be informed about the company’s finances. At companies where there is no elected union representative, it will be possible to enter into local agreements that build upon the collective agreement if this is supported by more than half of the unionised employees under the collective agreement. If you do not have a union representative at your workplace, you can contact your local HK branch at +45 7011 4545 and find out what the possibilities are for getting one. 11
