Each employee will have the same amount set aside as savings – but will receive 2% more in salary income. More parental leave The period of leave during which the employer pays the employee’s full salary is ex- tended by 4 weeks. This means that an employee who has had 10 weeks of materni- ty leave has 9 weeks of leave on full pay and an employee who has not had mater- nity leave has 10 weeks of leave on full pay. In addition, there are 5 weeks which can be shared between the parents. In total, leave with pay after the birth of a child is increased to 36 weeks instead of the 32 weeks it is set at currently. 8 Better rights for union representatives Trade union representatives will have stronger tools than currently, so that they have better opportunities to bring home good results in local wage negotiations. Insight will be provided into the business’s finances, as well as better opportunities for collective real wage negotiations. The new agreement also provides better access to choosing a trade union repre- sentative. In future, the requirement for the minimum number of organised emplo- yees needed before a trade union representative can be elected will be reduced from 6 to 5. The agreement also gives trade union representatives better opportunities and more rights to organise – thereby strengthening the Danish model. Specifically, it provides trade union representatives the opportunity to meet with newly-hired col- leagues during working hours. In addition, the trade union representative must in future be informed if an emplo- yee's conditions of employment change in such a way that he or she is no longer covered by the scope of the collective agreement. New rules for night work The Parties agree that from now on employees may only have 3 night shifts in a row, only work 9 hours at a time and there must be at least 11 hours between 2 shifts. Additionally, pregnant workers may work a maximum of 1 night shift per week to re- duce the risk of miscarriage and other complications of pregnancy. If the employer cannot change the working hours to a maximum of 1 night shift, the worker will be placed on leave with full pay for the extra planned night shifts . In future, companies must annually draw up a written statement on the number of night workers and the extent to which night workers are offered annual health checks, as well as carry out an annual risk assessment aimed at night work. Education and training 100% salary cover for self-chosen education and training The right to full pay during an education programme of choice is made permanent. 9
