Configuration menu 3.4 Card holder configuration The “Card Holder Configuration” item gives access to set the parameters for Access Groups, Cardholder Week Programs, Card Pools, Departments, Free Format Definitions, Badge Encodings, Badge Layouts, and Card Holder Databases. Access Groups Badge layouts Cardholder databases Cardholder week programs Card pools An Access Group specifies the Access Rights to the whole system for the Card Holders of the Access Group. More information about how to create and edit Access Groups can be found in Section 3.4.1. The ”Badge Layout Editor” dialog is used for importing a Badge Layouts so that this can be selected in connection with the creation and editing of Badges (Cards) using the “Personal Card Editor” dialog (Section 4.2, page 4-10). The imported Badge Layouts is provided with a name and can be exported again with this name. More information about how to import and export Badge Layouts can be found in (Section 3.4.2) A Card Holder Database contains information about Card Holders and Visitor Cards. More Card Holder Databases can be contained within the same system. This is useful if for example several companies are using the same system (they might be in the same building), but each company has its own Card Holder Database, its own Departments, its own Card Pool etc as explained below. More information about how to create and edit Access Groups can be found in Section 3.4.3. A Card Holder Week Program specifies the type of access allowed for Card Holders on Readers for the various Daytypes. A Card Holder Week Program may for example specify that there is no access from midnight until 07:00. From 07:00 until 17:00, access is allowed with PINcode, and from 17:00 until midnight there is no access. More information about how to create and edit Card Holder Week Programs can be found in Section 3.4.4. A Card Pool contains a range (pool) of card numbers for a specific Site Code. When a Site Code is created, a corresponding Card Pool is automatically created. This Card Pool will contain all card numbers allowed with this Site Code. 3-48 92003405
