FlowCon By-Pass Assembly 05/2025 For terminal flushing , both forward and back flushing is possible, either through the coil or around the coil, according to BSRIA BG29/2021. Choose your flushing procedure according to lo- cal standards and requirements. FlowCon rec- ommends terminal flushing with the pre-installed flushing cap fitted and fitting of the PICV insert after proper flushing. From Bypass Operation position and for FOR- WARD FLUSHING , connect hose to blow- down valve ( ) on the strainer, and then slowly open the inlet bypass handle ( ) by turning it 90°counter-clockwise to pressurize the coil. Open the blow-down valve ( ) and forward flush around the coil. Close bypass handle again to return to Bypass Operation position, close the blow-down valve and disconnect hose. Alternatively, perform forward flushing through the coil following the above procedure, but con- nect the hose to a combination p/t drain ( ) on the PICV valve. From Bypass Operation position and for BACK FLUSHING , connect hose to blow-down valve ( ) on the strainer and slowly open the inlet bypass handle ( ) by turning it 180° counter- clockwise to pressurize the coil. Open the blow- down valve ( ) and back flush around the coil. Close bypass handle again to return to Bypass Operation position, close the blow-down valve and disconnect hose. Alternatively, perform back flushing through the coil. If a PICV insert is installed, FlowCon recom- mends that the PICV is set to 3.0 during back flushing to safeguard it against high water veloc- ity. Then from Bypass Operation position, con- nect hose to blow-down valve ( ) on the strain- er and slowly open the outlet bypass handle ( ) by turning it 90° clockwise to pressurize the coil. Open the blow-down valve ( ) and back flush through the coil. Close bypass handle again to return to Bypass Operation position, close the blow-down valve and disconnect hose.
