ABOUT DANISH AGRO Danish Agro’s history dates back to 1901 when Stevns Andel was founded. Today, Danish Agro is owned by 9,000 Danish farmers, and our most important job is to be the best possible business partner for our owners and customers and to create the greatest possible additional value for the farmers we work with. At present, the group has more than 5,000 employees divided into six business divisions and has about 100 subsidiaries in 16 countries. The parent company Danish Agro is based on a number of proud Danish agribusiness companies that have become part of the family over time. We take great pride in being a part of the Danish co-operative movement, and we are very focused on running our company based on the original co-operative principles. Multiple mergers and acquisitions have taken Danish Agro from being a local, then regional, subsequently national and now an inter national operator. It is the group’s stated target to grow to be able to maintain a sound business in an industry under pressure, so that in the long term we can continue to be a competitive partner of the agricultural industry. The condition for this is to maintain a sound financial status. We do not compromise here. We were brought into this world to further the financial interests of our members in the best possible way, and to offer the farmers the products and services needed at a modern farm. The farms become increasingly fewer, larger and more specialised. This changes the need for the services in demand, and as Danish Agro mirrors the agricultural industry, there are also higher demands in relation to specialisation in Danish Agro. In other words, every day we work to fulfil the needs of our owners and customers to the best possible effect.
