PARTNERSHIPS FOR SOLUTIONS OF THE FUTURE A strong sense of community is one of our core values, and we believe that strategic partnerships will pave the way for finding answers to both current and future challenges. Together with a number of different partners, we are therefore working on numerous projects that will potentially come to make a difference in the sustainable transition. Based on black soldier fly larvae, high-value oil and protein are produced, which can be included in the production of feed for livestock. This takes place at Enorm Biofactory’s 22,000 square metre factory in Hvirring near Hedensted, Denmark, which opened in December and is the largest insect protein factory in Northern Europe. The factory will produce 100 tonnes of larvae a day and just under 10,000 tonnes of insect meal a year. EXTRACTION OF GRASS PROTEINS Together with Danish Agro and DLF, we have founded BioRefine Denmark A/S, which produces proteins from organic clover grass and alfalfa. At the biorefinery north of Varde, Denmark, organic, protein is extracted from locally produced clover grass and alfalfa. The plant is Northern Europe’s largest plant of its kind. In 2023, BioRefine joined the GreenImPro project led by Aarhus University, which aims to convert traditional feed crops into food ingredients. As a crop, grass holds great potential in the green transformation because it binds nitrogen and leaches fewer nutrients.
