PROPORTION OF FEMALE MANAGERS At group level, 2023 saw a 2.1 % increase in the proportion of female managers, which now stands at 22.2 %. There are 536 leaders, of whom 119 are women. Within all business areas, the proportion of male managers with many years of seniority remains high. However, the situation is different when it comes to young female managers working in, for example, support functions and stores. The senior management comprises the Executive Board and managers with staff responsibility reporting directly to the Executive Board. In 2023, the senior management consists of 13 individuals, of whom five are women, accounting for 38 %. This reflects an equal gender distribution in the senior management, thereby meeting the set target. As part of an update of our diversity policy, we will revisit our target figures for the underrepresented gender in 2024. POLICIES AND REPORTING The DLG Group complies with all applicable legislation and regulations in the countries in which we operate, and we are dedicated to having an open dialogue about sustainability and CSR issues with our stakeholders. In our group-wide CSR policy, we have laid out the basic principles for our CSR approach. It is crucial for us that the efforts have a clear strategic direction, that they are significant and that they can be implemented in practice. We are a signatory to the UN Global Compact and also support the UN’s Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. We focus on integrating these principles within the group through our Code of Conduct and throughout our value chain through our Supplier Code of Conduct. To ensure consistent and continuous reporting on ESG targets, in 2023 we further strengthened our ESG organisation to ensure that we can start reporting according to the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) from the financial year beginning 1 January 2025. STATEMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DANISH FINANCIAL STATEMENTS ACT From 2023, our sustainability report is integrated into the annual report. As a result, the annual report also includes our communication on progress as regards the principles of the UN Global Compact along with the statutory CSR report in accordance with Sections 99a, 99b and 99d of the Danish Financial Statements Act. The report also describes our efforts to achieve our SBTi-validated climate targets as well as our work on social responsibility, equality and compliance. DATA We take a systematic approach to data in order to measure sustainable development. We collect data from 450 sites in Europe across all group companies and currently collect data on energy, imported deforestation-free soy and work-related accidents. Towards 2025, data collection will be expanded to include more metrics. The collection and validation of data takes place in close cooperation with those responsible for the financial reporting. DOUBLE MATERIALITY Our sustainability efforts are anchored in our strategy, Creating the Future 2030. We engage in ongoing discussions with players in the value chain about impacts, risks and opportunities. To ensure the right focus and priorities in our sustainability efforts, we are in the process of preparing a double materiality analysis. It is also intended to help ensure the right focus in relation to the EU Corporate Social Responsibility Directive. 26 DLG ANNUAL REPORT 2023
