HOUSING FOOD ENERGY AREAS OF BUSINESS Within the Energy business area, as one of Germany’s largest energy distributors, we deliver today’s and tomorrow’s energy solutions to companies and private customers. We meet our customers’ needs for the current forms of energy, while taking part in developing and distributing the energy solutions of the future. Our ambition is to meet society’s basic needs for energy, so people and goods can be transported from A to B, and private homes and companies can be heated and be supplied with the power they need now and in the future. We want sustainable energy solutions to be good business. That’s why we will continue to grow so we can support the sustainable transition and adapt our business to meet future demands. Our Energy business has grown significantly in recent years, and we have therefore decided to turn it into a separate business area, which we intend to develop through organic growth and investments. The business area covers both our German and our Danish energy business. Within the business area Food, we develop and deliver solu- tions to farmers and the food industry to create a sustainable future for agriculture. In this way, we contribute to putting food on dining tables around the world. The DLG Group is one of Europe’s largest agricultural companies and Europe’s largest exporter of crops. Our vitamins and minerals business is the third largest in Europe, while we are Europe’s fifth largest producer of animal nutrition. We will deliver even more of what farmers need on their farms with a focus on our core products within feed, crops, raw materials, crop protection and fertiliser, while also offering the sustainable solutions of the future. In Food, we have brought together the two business areas we previously called Agribusiness and Premix & Nutrition. As a result, we now have one business area that covers all the farmer’s needs in crops, plant cultivation, livestock nutrition, vitamins and minerals. Poultry, eggs and the country stores also belong to Food. Within the business area Housing, we deliver high-quality services and materials for the construction of the buildings and infrastructure of the future. Our sales of building mate- rials to both businesses and private customers have been growing in recent years, and we are now one of the largest suppliers of building materials on the German market. By making Housing a separate business area, we want to create further opportunities for growth in this strategy period. We want to expand our market position as a leading regional supplier of building materials to businesses and private customers. This must be realised through organic growth, and we will also seize opportunities for acquisitions that fit into the business. Today, we run the best-earning business in the German builders’ merchants industry, and we must continue to do so. Therefore, we will continue to optimise our supply chain, just as we will invest in IT and digitalisation and streamline our way of doing business. DLG IN BRIEF 2022 3
