Impact of fluidity on the handling of slurry and biomass Depending on the construction of the biogas plant, pumping and stirring during production can make up more than 60% of the total power consumption. The content of dry matter in the biomass and its fluidity are important parameters, when it comes to the efficiency of pumps and the stirrer. The friction of the liquid material, such as the biomass in a biogas plant, is an important factor in how easy or difficult it is to “push” the biomass when pumping or stirring the biomass in reactor and storage tanks. This determines the fluidity and the amount of power needed to make the biomass move. Biogas plant without the addition of SeoFoss REACTOR TANK The friction of the biomass creates resistance and hinders the ability to flow in the desired direction STORAGE TANK The movement of the biomass occurs through stirring and pumping PUMP Biomass is pumped between tanks during the process Biogas plant with the addition of SeoFoss SeoFoss reduces the friction of the fluid, thereby lowering the power consumption REACTOR TANK Adding SeoFoss The friction of the biomass is reduced STORAGE TANK The efficiency of the biogas plant’s pumps and stirrers will consequently increase PUMP SeoFoss dosage Rapid start up (optional): Calculate the total m3 per reactor tank and add SeoFoss, corresponding to 0.02 kg per m3 over one week. Afterwards, follow continuous dosing. Continuous dosing: 0.02 kg SeoFoss per m3 biomass added. Supplementation of SeoFoss can be performed on a daily basis or twice a week.
