It is capable of producing substantial yields of high quality fodder to suit both animal feed and anaerobic digestion. Fodder Beet is a high energy, low protein and low fibre feed which can be treated as a forage concentrate due to its rapid digestion in the rumen. Excellent dry matter yields can be expected from DLF Fodder Beet varieties, including much higher fresh yields, especially with medium dry matter varieties. Fodder Beet is a highly palatable and digestible feed and is an excellent supplement to grass silage. In a correctly balanced diet it should result in excellent animal performance and more efficient milk and meat production.
