Press Release DLF Seeds A/S to close the R&D site in Landskrona, Sweden ROSKILDE, DENMARK – 22 nd January, 2024 – Today we have announced that DLF Seeds A/S will stop all activities at the R&D site in Landskrona, Sweden before 1st July 2024 and close the site. Since the announcement about the new Joint Venture for sugar beet and fodder beet, the EMB has been collaborating with the local team in Landskrona to investigate alternative options for the site. This effort, however, has not been able to identify an economically viable option within DLF Seeds’ current business portfolio. The situation leads to the consequence that the R&D site in Landskrona will be closed from July 2024, affecting approximately 70 employees. “This is a very difficult decision as it marks the end of a long and proud plant breeding history in Landskrona. We have many highly skilled and experienced employees in Landskrona that I have been proud to work with.” says Derek Bartlem, Chief Scientific Officer, and EVP at DLF. Consultation with unions have been conducted and will continue based on the decision now made around the Landskrona site. Internal teams will ensure the knowledge and breeding material that has been developed in Landskrona is collected and prepared in a way so it can be integrated into the new future Joint Venture.
