PRODUCT PROGRAM Hoses are available with a choice of core arrangements, materials, braid configurations and dimensions to match specific customer require- ments. Standard sizes range from 6 mm (¼”) to 300 mm (12”), with larger sizes available on request. Materials The hose core and wire braid are made as standard from austenitic steels (300 series and typically AISI 321 and AISI 316) and nickel alloys; Inconel 625, Incoloy 800, Incoloy 825 etc. Alternative materials are available on request. Vibration Hoses are often used to minimize the effects of vibration from rotating equipment, where the amplitude is relatively high double-braided constructions and special arrange- ments may be required. Please contact us to discuss your specific requirements. Movements The illustrations show how move- ments can be absorbed in the metallic flexible hoses. Please note that it is imperative that during the movement of the hose it is not subjected to torsion. If any additional clarification of this point is required, do not hesitate to contact us for advice. Movements TEMPERATURE RANGE Basic pressure ratings for metallic flexible hoses are stated at room temperature. To determine the pressure rating at higher temperatures a correction factor must be applied to cater for the temperature-dependent reduction in mechanical strength. Temperature correction factors for commonly used hose material are shown in the table below. Similarly the effect of temperature on the fittings selected and the materials used in their manufacture should be consi- dered when establishing the specifi- cation for the hose assembly.
