A century of heat in industry The first boiler is built at the Aalborg Shipyard. Aalborg Shipyard develops its own design of oil and gas-fired burners. 1919 Small boilers for process industries are designed and manufactured for the first time. 1920s 1930s Aalborg Shipyard develops and builds its first boilers designed for power stations. 1940s In 1987, the Aalborg Shipyard closes. However, the Aalborg boilers division continues on and ultimately becomes Aalborg Industries A/S. 1980s Aalborg Industries acquires ATA Combustão Técnica, located in Petrópolis, Brazil, from the Japanese firm Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. 2000 For decades, Alfa Laval has developed boiler solutions for a wide range of industries.
