Explore classrooms where colour meets function In our catalogue of inspirations, we’ll take you through 18 uniquely designed classrooms, each of which is created with an in-depth understanding of the impact of colour theory on emotions and behaviour. Our desire is to inspire and guide you to a school environment that is good for both individual development and co-creation. With four thoughtful styles – clarity, concentration, creativity and security – we show how carefully chosen colours and materials can deepen and refine learning experiences. Every classroom is equipped for the future of education. Furniture and storage are carefully selected to be both practical and durable, giving teachers and students the flexibility to adapt the learning environment to each unique learning style. We also include inspiration for an art or lab room featuring furniture that can withstand creative challenges and experimentation. Finally, we present the Active Learning Classroom (ALC) designed to promote ideas, creative thinking and group interaction in a calm environment with less visual and auditory distraction. These aren’t just classrooms, they’re spaces where the thinkers, creators, and innovators of the future are taking their first steps toward shaping the world. Clarity By using a white or light grey base, we can reduce visual fatigue and promote concentration, especially during longer study periods. The colours create a sense of structure and reflect light, which makes us alert and helps to increase clarity in the classroom. A neutral base is great because it can be complemented with all other colours and so is easy to match with different interior styles. Concentration Natural colours contribute to a relaxed atmosphere that promotes concentration and focused learning. Green hues reinforce the connection to nature and its calming, healing properties. It has an effect on our ability to recover and is therefore suitable for most learning environments. Green is also perfect for combining with neutral tones and different types of wood such as birch or ash. Creativity Warm, energizing colours such as yellow and pink can contribute to a positive and collaborative atmosphere. Yellow is strongly associated with optimism and joy. This makes it suitable for classrooms where you want to encourage creative expression and get people talking. Pink is an excellent complementary colour that is associated with feelings of empathy and creates a relaxed environment. Security Blue has a calming effect and lowers stress levels. The colour is associated with harmony and stability, which can contribute to a sense of security for both students and teachers. It can also broaden perspectives and open our minds to new ideas thanks to the spaciousness and openness the colour brings. In the classroom, blue is good for results-oriented work as it stimulates productivity and efficiency.
