EDITION 1 / 2017 VIKING Evacuation System, VEC PLUS™ TECHNICAL INFORMATION The new VIKING VEC Plus™ system combines simplicity and smart thinking - streamlining evacuation, reducing technical risks and extending asset life. VIKING VEC Plus™ is the next generation in fully enclosed, dryshod evacuation directly from the ship into high-capacity liferafts. This unique, self-contained system enables passengers and crew to disembark quickly and safely. Designed to fit the exact same footprint as VIKING’s popular VIKING VEC™ evacuation systems, and with the same capacity, VIKING VEC Plus™ won’t require changes to the ship – and no welding is involved. Cost effective maintenance and reliability The system provides substantial cost benefits during servicing, provided by a combination of easy accessibility and an engineering design phase that focused on reducing overall system complexity. Flexibility and durability The VIKING VEC Plus™ system represents a complete re-design of the VIKING VEC™ range. Among the principle changes are a reduction in the height of container storage space, as well as built-in float free functionality and flexibility to cater for vessel sizes from smaller ferries to large cruise ships.
