SemCoMem® Produced water solutions offered by Semco Maritime Today, many oil wells produce a lot of water, up to 90%. The amount of produced water increases over time due to continuous intrusion of surrounding water and water injection. Hydro cyclones, with or without degasser, have been used for many years. However, it is very difficult to remove oil when the concentration gets below 15 mg/l, and the processing is not stable. Furthermore, hydro cyclones have difficulties removing suspended solids. Why choose SemCoMem®       10 times higher flux than other ceramics System for easy installation Stable operation Smaller footprint High durability Produced water without oil, solids or bacteria Service and maintenance friendly How SiC is changing the produced water industry SiC is significantly more chemically inert than competing membranes and has extremely good hydrophilic properties, which results in unmatched durability and high flux rates. The resistance towards hydrocarbons and suspended solids makes SemCoMem® ideal for produced water applications.  First-class expertise SemCoMem® enables us to manufacture a produced water treatment plant system, which is very compact, weighs significantly less, and has a reduced footprint. Additional advantages are reduced maintenance requirements and costs. The product will of course be available as a plug and play unit compliant with offshore standards and suitable for EEx applications including pumps, valves, instrumentation and any control system. The solution can be made either as a complement to traditional hydro cyclones or as a replacement of the hydro cyclones. It is all up to you. CoMeTas inside Semco Maritime´s solution for treating produced water SemCoMem® is equipped with an internal CoMeTas CoMem® membrane technology. The unique and patented CoMem® membrane is made of silicon carbide, SiC, which offers flux efficiency improvements by more than 10 times as compared with other ceramic membranes with similar pore size. The membrane with a 0.04 micron pore size has shown to be the most suitable membrane for produced water applications. It easily removes oil down to a concentration far below 5 mg/l. In addition, it rejects bacteria, other microorganisms and reduces the virus count. The produced water flows through the channels of the cross flow membrane. The water will be pressed through the membrane inside the channel wall and out through the SiC membrane wall, ready for reinjection.
