Yard in Aalborg, Northern Denmark Work on transformer platform progressing Cable pulling at the transformer platform Semco Maritime is currently working on electrical and technical systems for the transformer platform under construction i Aalborg. The platform is being constructed for the Anholt wind farm – a new 400 MW farm situated close to the island of Anholt in Kattegat. Work on the platform began at Bladt Industries in Aalborg on 3 October and is due to be completed on 14 March 2011. The platform will be transported to the site in Kattegat on 15 March where Semco Maritime will be commissioning the onboard electrical and technical systems. - We have some 45 employees working in Aalborg and 8 engineers working on the project in Esbjerg, says Senior Project Manager, Peter Hedemann Andersen. The platform will be operational in August 2012. - Semco Maritime has gained a lot of knowledge from several transformer platforms. There’s a lot happening in this market and we are currently negotiating new projects in the UK, Germany and Belgium, he adds. 1
