2 EDITORIAAL 125 jaar Scania Dit nummer van de King of the Road is volledig gewijd aan 125 jaar Scania. Van een lokale speler is Scania uitgegroeid tot een wereldwijd concern dat de toon aangeeft op het vlak van bedrijfsvoertuigen, motoren en duurzaam transport. Sinds 1946 is Scania ook in Nederland aanwe- zig. Aanvankelijk via importeur en verdeler Beers, later via Scania Nederland. Ons land werd bovendien een bakermat voor de productie met de oprichting van de assemblagefabriek in Zwolle. Zowel over de geschiedenis van Scania (pagina 4) als de geschiedenis van Scania in Nederland (pagina 6) leest u meer in dit nummer. We nemen u tevens mee naar de oudste Scania werkplaats van het land. Op pagina 14 vindt u hoe Scania klanten altijd “Onze klanten zijn trouwe klanten.” hun vertrouwen heb- ben gesteld in de Scania Peter Hornig vestiging te Zwolle.
