Annual report 2018 – Radiological Research Unit Radiological research The radiological research unit features medical doctors and radiographers collaborating to perform research of benefit to the patients. We are engaged in research in order to find the best way to diagnose and treat various diseases, and how to examine patients with the lowest possible radiation dose and best possible image quality. We perform experimental research using phantoms and technical set‐up or clinical research involving patient participation. The radiological research unit will focus on patient and relative involvement in our research. It is our main target to ensure research within all professions. Our target is to achieve interdisciplinary research of benefit to the patients. Hence, we will initiate research in all professions and research fields such as: Undergraduate, bachelor and master students Nurses and other professions Radiographers Medical doctors PhDs Post docs Associate professors Professors We will strengthen our international collaboration through affiliation of adjunct professors and aim for initiation of a multi‐center study within radiology and radiography. This will open up possibilities for international research visits, and attract international researchers and PhD students to our unit. To strengthen and ensure external funding, each researcher will have a personal annual research cycle and will be responsible to apply for funding. Each PhD student must aim to receive a least 2 grants from external funds each year. Our focus will also be on commercial projects which will contribute to the financing of research activities and research equipment. 5
