MUELLER ® 3" - 12" NO-BLO ® LINE STOPPER FITTINGS - MAXIMUM PRESSURES 11.1 Shaded area indicates change Rev. 12-06 The maximum pressure at which any stopping operation can safely be performed is governed by the item having the lowest operating pressure rating. This item is not necessarily the fitting itself Use the following chart to determine the maximum pressure for a given situation. Keep in mind that equipment rated at a pressure which is lower than the system’s operating pressure may be used by lowering the system pressure temporarily. There are many factors affecting the decision to lower system pressure to allow a stopping operation, almost always involving how tolerant customers served by the line can be of a pressure reduction. The charts can be used in two ways: 1. If you already have Mueller equipment, use the chart to determine the maximum pressure by finding the fitting and other stopping equipment you plan to use. 2. If you are looking for the Mueller equipment that will best match your system pressure, find the pressure at the right of the chart to determine which stopping machine, control method, stopper and fitting combination can be used. Mueller Co. recommends contacting a trained Mueller Sales Representative or Authorized Gas Products Distributor for assistance with selecting and ordering equipment.
