FlowCon FM actuators ELECTRICAL ACTUATORS INSTALLATION AND OPERATION INSTRUCTION FlowCon FM actuators The actuator type FlowCon FM.0.2 (figure 1) is an electrical modulating actuator supplied with an integrated connection union. The actuator is fitted directly onto the cartridge by a finger tighten of the connection union. Do not use additional tools. Fitting and orientation of the actuator. Every FlowCon FM actuator is delivered in “open” position, so it easily can be fitted on the valve. Before fitting the actuator to the valve, power supply must be turned off and the actuator must be manually turned (CCW) by means of a 3mm Allen key to position 1, “stem fully retracted” (the actuator will be factory-set in this position). After fitting the actuator, power can be re-connected. Every time power is applied to the FM.0.2 actuator, the actuator carries out a self-calibration. No manual interventions are permitted during calibration. Please install the valve so that the actuator is located upwards and higher than the valve center line to prevent condensation into the electronics (figure 3). Figure 3 Max 85º Max 85º Figure 1 Figure 2 After installation the actuator will, when electrically connected, carry out a self-calibration, to match the stroke length of the specific FlowCon valve. The actuator types FlowCon FM.0.3 and FM.0.4 (figure 1) are electrical 3-point-floating actautors supplied with an integrated connection union. The actuator is fitted directly onto the insert by a finger tighten of the connection union. Do not use additional tools. For the FlowCon FM.0.3 and FM.0.4 no calibration function is carried out after re-applying power. The actuator types FlowCon FM.1.3 and FM.1.4 (figure 2) are applied to the insert the same way as described above, but FM.1.3 and FM.1.4 will in addition include one change-over-switch. !! NEVER INSTALL THE ACTUATOR IN CLOSED POSITION AS THIS MAY DAMAGE THE INSERT OR ACTUATOR! !!
