A Færch Plast Packaging BUILT-IN “absorber” feature for fresh meat trays Faerch Plast has launched a new tray with a built-in “absorber” feature, ideal for fresh meat. The base of the tray has been specially designed to trap and retain meat juice without the use of absorber pads. The new trays incorporating the “absorber” feature can offer savings of up to 20 % over traditional trays with absorber pads*. In cases where the absorber is placed manually, the savings will be even greater*. Function Surface tension causes the meat juice to become trapped in the recesses in the bottom of the tray. Depending on the type of meat juice, the tray can trap and retain approximately 15 ml of fluid.** Display The new tray offers an attractive, inviting, presentation of fresh meat on the supermarket shelves and is available in different colours and materials. * When comparing unit costs Environment The new tray provides a reduction in energy consumption as absorber pads are no longer required thereby reducing its carbon footprint. ** In a tray with a base area of 225cm2.
