– smoothly, smartly and safely In a century of working with marine industry, Alfa Laval has become a given partner in fuel and cargo handling. Our work with stabilizing volatile gas cargo began over 40 years ago, and our pioneering work in fuel treatment has evolved beyond oils to a range of gas alternatives. As we lead the way in equipment for the expanding marine gas market, our dedication to efficiency, economy and safety is as strong as ever. GAS AS FUEL An increasing number of vessels are running on gas. Doing so involves significant challenges, from low viscosities and boiling points to high pressures in some applications. Drawing on a century of fuel treatment experience, Alfa Laval has the answers. GAS AS CARGO For vessels that transport gas, safety is foremost. Alfa Laval offers peace of mind, having worked for decades with this concern in focus. Today Alfa Laval is a one-stop shop for safeguarding gas as cargo, whether the gas is LNG, LPG or LPG/E. Alfa Laval Aalborg dual-fuel burners systems Alfa Laval Aalborg dual-fuel burners can be found on a range of vessel types. For use with Alfa Laval Aalborg boilers and thermal fluid heating systems, they allow the use of either LNG or oil as the firing medium. Alfa Laval Smit inert gas systems Alfa Laval Smit inert gas systems are the standard for eliminating combustion risk in the gas cargo environment. Most of them employ the unique Ultramizing® principle for soot-free inert gas even at partial loads. Alfa Laval heat exchangers Alfa Laval has a complete range of heat exchangers for both high-pressure LNG fuel systems and low-pressure LNG and LPG fuel systems. Among them are welded plate heat exchangers, fusion-bonded heat exchangers and printed circuit heat exchangers. Alfa Laval heat exchangers Alfa Laval has gasket-free heat exchangers for working with any gas duty on board. Suitable from cryogenic to high temperatures, they also handle the high pressures typically found in cargo condensers, cargo heaters and refrigerant economizers. Alfa Laval Gas FCM One The Alfa Laval Gas FCM One meets fuel conditioning demands when using LNG engines with high-pressure ME-GI technology. Overseen by sophisticated automation, the gas is pressurized to more than 250 bar and vaporized at cryogenic temperatures. Alfa Laval Gas Combustion Unit (GCU) Specifically for LNG carriers, the Alfa Laval GCU is a reliable, simple and compact means of economically regulating cargo tank pressure. It safely disposes of boil-off gas when it cannot be used for propulsion, or prior to tank inspection.
